Do Justly ~ ~ Love Mercy ~ ~ Walk Humbly

Dearest Lord, teach me to be generous;
Teach me to serve Thee as Thou deserves;
To give and not to count the cost,
To fight and not to heed the wounds,
To toil and not to seek for rest,
To labor and not to seek reward,
Save that of knowing that I do Thy will.

  1. I love that the words spoken by the Saints from a century ago are still so relevant today. This is how my Father and Mother grew up… I worry a bit that so many children, now days, will miss these beautiful truths. Guess it is up to us to share the truths with our grand children…Lynda

  2. Yes, Lynda. These words of truth and wisdom are timeless.
    Send me some of your favorites and I can post them here.
    I’m working on a post that tells how to make little prayer books.
    I think these would be a wonderful legacy to leave to our children ~
    full of scripture, poems, prayers, hymns that have been most meaningful to us.
    Thanks for sparking this idea.
