Dear Friends,

Tomorrow, as the season of Lent begins, I invite you to walk the path of Jesus with me + which is all love, compassion, and grace . . . .  40 Days of Mercy + + +

During Lent it is customary to give up something, as a sign of penitence.
Therefore, let us give up hatred, anger, meanness, gossip, bullying,
bitterness, arrogance and self-pity.

May we be empowered by the Spirit and filled with the Love of God
to heal ourselves and heal the world through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Lord, in your mercy, may it be so.

Anna Lin +

Put away from you all bitterness and wrath and anger and wrangling
and slander, together with all malice, and be kind to one another,
forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.
Therefore, be imitators of God, as beloved children,
and live in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us,
a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Ephesians 4:31-32; 5:1-2

Love One Another

When we love others, God’s love is complete. Today as I think about this it reminds me of an electrical circuit. From my days in shop class , eons ago, I remember-If the circuit is incomplete the light won’t come on. If we choose to not show God’s love to another, it’s like breaking the circuit. And the world and certainly the person are left not experiencing the light and love God intends for us all. The first “if” in this passage is probably best understood as “since.” Since God so loved us to make Christ known, we should love. The second “if” however is up to us. If we make love known, and we might or we might not, is how we might best hear this. If we make love known, God’s love is perfected, made complete. Abiding in us and flowing through us in that circuit. Sisters and brothers, keep that circuit of love open.

This Love Of Which I Speak ~ ~ ~

This LOVE of which I speak . . .

. . . is patient and kind;
love does not envy or boast;
it is not arrogant or rude.
It does not insist on its own way;
it is not irritable or resentful;
it does not rejoice at wrongdoing,
but rejoices with the truth.
Love bears all things,
believes all things,
hopes all things,
endures all things.
Love never ends.

1 Corinthians 13: 4-8
