A Lenten Journey + 40 Days of Mercy + + +

bb2456c37c6206061d89a8b8f50aa4301
Dear Friends,

Tomorrow, as the season of Lent begins, I invite you to walk the path of Jesus with me + which is all love, compassion, and grace . . . .  40 Days of Mercy + + +

During Lent it is customary to give up something, as a sign of penitence.
Therefore, let us give up hatred, anger, meanness, gossip, bullying,
bitterness, arrogance and self-pity.

May we be empowered by the Spirit and filled with the Love of God
to heal ourselves and heal the world through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Lord, in your mercy, may it be so.

Anna Lin +

Put away from you all bitterness and wrath and anger and wrangling
and slander, together with all malice, and be kind to one another,
forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.
Therefore, be imitators of God, as beloved children,
and live in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us,
a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Ephesians 4:31-32; 5:1-2

It Cannot Be Denied

It Cannot Be Denied

Only Jesus ~ Christ alone
I have learned to love and honor God
through him – the Savior of my Soul

My love is deep
do not deny it
by trying to pretend otherwise

for it cannot be denied

  • it is the ground of my being
  • it is the truth of my essence
  • it is the healing of my soul

this love that dwells within

and cannot be denied

Let this love reign
Let this love heal
to soothe my bitter woes.

I sit within my silent realm
to know this love of Christ

No greater love than this can be –

it cannot be denied.

Healer of our every ill,
light of each tomorrow,
give us peace beyond our fear,
and hope beyond our sorrow.

You who know our fears and sadness,
grace us with your peace and gladness;
Spirit of all comfort, fill our hearts.

You who know each thought and feeling,
teach us all your way of healing;
Spirit of compassion, fill each heart.

the dawn from on high will break upon us,
to give light to those who sit in darkness
and in the shadow of death,
to guide our feet into the way of peace.

A Child Song ~ Rising Up To Heal

wabi sabi 56dbdbc7f9ddbbbaf6bc5bf5bfb012ec

She speaks ~
the Child Song
still dwelling within the heart of me.

She cries ~
to be loved
and cared for every hour.

She longs
for the words
that will validate her being.

She waits
for each moment
to be loved.

Her past holds the memories
of suffering and pain . . .

Abuses to body and to soul.

Remembrance of times that
were difficult to bear –

as she wept inside,
in silence, and alone.

Today, I listen to her voice so tenderly,
to hear just what she has to say.

Together we shall find a way to heal ~
to bring her shadow forth into the light.

She gathers strength
to rise up
greater now ~ ~

To change into a
wiser, loving being.

Honored to serve
the greater goodness of life
that calls unto her soul to be.

This shall be so ~
this transformation
of my child ~ ~

She gratefully acknowledges
her gift;

that she who once was
wounded as a child ~

now forms the woman of compassion
that I be.

From whence my hope, I cannot say,
except it grows in the cells of my skin,
in my envelope of mysteries it hums.
In this sheath so akin to the surface of the earth
it whispers. Beneath
the wail and dissonance in the world,
hope’s song grows. Until I know
that with this turning
we put a broken age to rest.
We who are alive at such a cusp
now usher in
one thousand years of healing! Continue reading

And All Be Made Well: A Healing Blessing

IMG_2858

That each ill
be released from you
and each sorrow
be shed from you
and each pain
be made comfort for you
and each wound
be made whole in you

that joy will
arise in you
and strength will
take hold of you
and hope will
take wing for you
and all be made well.

Wounded Healer Though I Be

Angel d32f657a7eb7e7284e0f3f092eb72e2d

Today in the midst of this season of festivity, I want to acknowledge those who are feeling deep sorrow and loss – – those who are steeped in darkness and despair. I am deeply moved by all that is happening in your lives and in the world and how difficult it can be to move through this holiday time with even a glimmer of hope.

Last month marked twenty years since I experienced poisoning by pesticides in my work place. I fell into darkness and despair when my health crashed and I lost my life and dreams as I had known them. I have lived through the challenges of finding my way through the shadows – – wounded healer though I be. I say HEALER, for although I am not “cured”, this experience has offered the gift of healing in many ways. I have had the opportunity of Learning to Walk in the Dark (the title of Barbara Brown Taylor’s popular book).

Today I just want to sit with you in the dark days of your longings.
The words from a meaningful song come to mind.

“I will hold the Christ-light for you
In the night time of your fear.
I will hold my hand out to you;
Speak the peace you long to hear.”

Today I sit in quiet stillness and hold the Christ Light for you and for the world.

Candle light 35254800292fd0af684a17b50460ca02

Here are the rest of the words to the song if you would like to reflect on them:

Sister, let me be your servant.
Let me be as Christ to you.
Pray that I might have the grace
To let you be my servant, too.

We are pilgrims on a journey.
We are brothers on the road.
We are here to help each other
Walk the mile and bear the load.

I will hold the Christ-light for you
In the night time of your fear.
I will hold my hand out to you;
Speak the peace you long to hear.

I will weep when you are weeping.
When you laugh, I’ll laugh with you.
I will share your joy and sorrow
Till we’ve seen this journey through.

When we sing to God in heaven,
We shall find such harmony
Born of all we’ve known together
Of Christ’s love and agony.

Brother, let me be your servant.
Let me be as Christ to you.
Pray that I might have the grace
To let you be my servant, too.
