Arms of Prayer,
Reaching out to bless the world in peace.
This my heart knows
as it silently recites the sacred whisper God bestows.
Hushed, in solemn splendour of an awe-filled realm,
the Spirit touches deep
to tell the soul of loveliest grace and mercy given onto thee.

There is no sorrow now among this distant sea
where white wings send the breath prayers back to God.
This altar of Divine bliss sweetens any darker thought
into a song;
In praise the temple of this space resounds.

O Holy Soul that might be given such depth
of majesty to behold;
Stand in the shadow for too much is Light:
The Radiance streameth on,
and you are kept upon the earth
to wonder at its brilliant sight.

Quiet Yourself

TH 9724913518483f8cadb852d50740deb5

Quiet yourself.
Reach out with your mind’s skillful hand.
Let it go inside of me
and touch
God.

Don’t
be shy, dear.
Every aspect of Light we are meant
to know.

The calm hand holds more
than baskets of goods
from the market.

The calm soul knows more
than anything this world
can ever offer.

It Cannot Be Denied

TH 119f099b349a454e46e92aa6f87f9896

It Cannot Be Denied

Only Jesus ~ Christ alone
I have learned to love and honor God
through him – the Savior of my Soul

My love is deep
do not deny it
by trying to pretend otherwise

for it cannot be denied

  • it is the ground of my being
  • it is the truth of my essence
  • it is the healing of my soul

this love that dwells within

and cannot be denied

Let this love reign
Let this love heal
to soothe my bitter woes.

I sit within my silent realm
to know this love of Christ

No greater love than this can be –

it cannot be denied.

Come To The Water!

m pr 5f999e90f5726be82f7852006119dd76

All you who are thirsty,
Come to the water!
You who have no money . . .
Come, without paying . . . Isaiah 55:1

Gracious God,
Source of all life,
Source of MY life . . .
To whom shall I go
but to You, when my soul thirsts
for living waters?
For only You, and You alone
can satisfy the longing of my heart.

And so, today, I come . . .
just as I am . . .
to receive all that You freely give
onto me this day.
Your love enfolds me . . .
Your grace sustains me . . .
And I shall live under Your protective care.

Today I shall drink from the Stream
of Living Waters at Your Word,
and know my life anew. Amen

From The Depths Of Night

nt pr bdbc2debeb630a736746e8cded905b93

No one knew the name of this day;
Born quietly from deepest night,
It hid its face in light,
Demanded nothing for itself,
Opened out to offer each of us
A field of brightness that traveled ahead,
Providing in time, ground to hold our footsteps
And the light of thought to show the way.

The mind of the day draws no attention;
It dwells within the silence with elegance
To create a space for all our words,
Drawing us to listen inward and outward.

We seldom notice how each day is a holy place
Where the eucharist of the ordinary happens,
Transforming our broken fragments
Into an eternal continuity that keeps us.

Somewhere in us a dignity presides
That is more gracious than the smallness
That fuels us with fear and force,
A dignity that trusts the form a day takes.

So at the end of this day, we give thanks
For being betrothed to the unknown
And for the secret work
Through which the mind of the day
And wisdom of the soul become one.

My Soul Shall Live ~ ~ ~

s of s d5498f2c769fbe1500ede0288954d1f9 (236x339)

“I may not sorrow for I saw the light,
Tho’ I shall walk in valley ways for long,
I still shall hear the echo of the song,—
My life is measured by its one great height.
Joy holds more grace than pain can ever give,
And by my glimpse of joy my soul shall live.”
