100 Days of Mercy ~ Scripture Verses

Shout for joy, O heavens! And rejoice, O earth!

For the LORD has comforted his people

Beloveds of God,
May these words be in your heart today:
You are goodness and mercy and compassion and understanding.
You are peace and joy and light.
You are forgiveness and patience, strength and courage,
a helper in time of need, a comforter in time of sorrow,
a healer in time of injury, a teacher in times of confusion.
You are the deepest wisdom and the highest truth;
the greatest peace and the grandest love.
You are these things. And in moments of your life
you have known yourself as these things.
Choose now to know yourself as these things always.

Night Prayers

For now – the day is over –

As the year draws to a close . . .

As this year draws to a close, receive My Peace.
This is still your deepest need, and I, your Prince of Peace,
long to pour Myself into your neediness.
My abundance and your emptiness are a perfect match.
I designed you to have no sufficiency of your own.
I created you as a jar of clay, set apart for sacred use.
I want you to be filled with My very Being,
permeated through and through with Peace.

Thank Me for My peaceful Presence, regardless of your feelings.
Whisper My Name in loving tenderness.
My Peace, which lives continually in your spirit,
will gradually work its way through your entire being.

Listen for the sounds unleashed in the silence.
Listen for the voices of stone that cry out to the glory of God.

Look for the sights unveiled by the rising sun.

Look for the blossoms shimmering in morning light,
singing God’s praise.
Breathe in the gift of faithful promises.
Breathe in the hope of a future world, now but not yet,
where freedom triumphs, peace and abundance reign.

Gentle Spirit

Spirit of Gentleness,

Flow through each moment of this day with me.

Whisper the words of grace and peace that will
calm my fears and heal my soul.

I Am Thinking Of You

I am thinking of you all during these holy days of Christmas.

I am thinking of how you are like shining lights within our world today.

I am thinking of how your love and generosity is caring for the needs of others.

I am thinking of God’s gracious love shown to us through the birth
of Jesus Christ ~ the Savior of the world.

May the song of the angels on that first Christmas night still sing
in our hearts today:

“Glory to God in the highest ~ and on earth, peace and good will to all.”

Peace On Earth

Peace….. the angel announced. But peace is as much task as gift.
Only if we become calm as earth, fluid as water, and blazing as fire will we be able to rise to the task of peacemaking, and the air will stir with the rush of wings of angels arriving to help us. This is why I wish you that great inner stillness which alone allows us to speak, even today, without irony of “peace on earth” and, without despair, to work for it.

Advent Peace – Slow Me Down Lord

Slow me down, O Prince of Peace.
Help me to be still . . . in the silence . . .
to wait patiently for your coming.
So often I push too hard, trying to make things happen.
Help me to remember that in God’s time, all will be well.
Even in the swirling of creation, God chose to “rest” . . .
to wait. In this quiet resting I am more aware of the gifts of
God’s grace and mercy, and I can truly be at peace.
Help me to fall into the quiet space where silence dwells . . .
to feel the breath of the spirit resting upon me.
In this circle of silence there is safety . . . there is peace. Amen
